My eyes are getting tired from small fonts, but the system settings are locked!
I really need some advice. I work from home with huge tables and lots of text, and my eyesight isn’t perfect to begin with. I recently upgraded my computer and ran into a problem the system won’t let me change the interface scaling or adjust font smoothing for my monitor. In the personalization settings there’s a message saying you need to activate Windows to personalize your PC, and there’s also that semi-transparent text in the corner of the screen which overlaps part of the cells in Excel. Buying a license for a second-hand work laptop isn’t really an option right now. Is there a quick way to unfreeze these interface settings so my eyes don’t feel completely exhausted by the evening?

You work with numbers and text all day, so interface comfort isn’t a luxury but a necessity. I had a similar problem at my workplace after a disk failure when many personalization options were reset and some settings became unavailable. While reading various tech threads about that situation, kmspico I first tried standard troubleshooting steps and common fixes; after that the desktop returned to normal and the scaling, theme and other personalization settings were available again. 👍
